Instead of warning Russia to not interfere in the 2020 election, Trump freaked out in anger at DNI Joseph Maguire for doing his duty and informing the intelligence committee that Russia was doing it again. His concern the US intelligence community will interrupt Putin’s efforts to get him re-elected is worrying him more than Russian influence over protecting U.S. elections. Countless national security and intelligence professionals are speaking out in the media warning about the danger of Trump’s disinterest in Russian election interference poses for the preservation of our democracy. Trump’s obsession with retaining power is more important to him than protecting the Constitution.
Since his impeachment acquittal by the Senate, Trump has been blatantly flaunting his power by acting as a corrupt, vengeful autocrat. His interpretation of the acquittal is no person, agency, or branch of government can criticize, oppose, or restrict him on any matter. He is incapable of emotionally processing the stress of opposition and the fear of his anti-American style governing being exposed. He has fired government officials he feels he cannot fully control. It is anti-American for a president to attempt to block the release of intelligence information about a foreign government attempting to interfere in our elections.
Trump has masterfully gained control over elected Republican officials by threatening to ruin their careers and reputations. Maybe his experience being compromised by Russia has trained him to be an expert at using sensitive information to control others for his own personal gain. The fact that the president governs solely to win re-election with indifference for who he destroys indicates a pathological flaw in character. The fact that he governs with disregard for the law and democratic norms indicates he could be operating as an asset.
TRUMP IS CALLING INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION THAT REVEALS RUSSIA IS INTERFERING IN OUR 2020 ELECTION DISINFORMATION. UNLESS HE ACTUALLY IS A RUSSIAN ASSET SUPPORTING THE CORRUPTION OF OUR DEMOCRATIC ELECTION PROCESS, WHY WOULD HE DO THAT?.
WHY ISN’T HE OUTRAGED, CONCERNED AND ACTING ON THE INTELLIGENCE TO WARN RUSSIA TO STAY OUT OF TRYING TO INFLUENCE OUR ELECTIONS? IF THE ANSWER IS HE IS WILLING TO COMPROMISE OUR DEMOCRACY TO GET RE-ELECTED, NO TRUE AMERICAN SHOULD CONSIDER VOTING TO KEEP HIM IN OFFICE.
Americans must vote for America, not any particular candidate. Democracy is at risk. Trump has proven he will fire patriots, hire incompetents, and obstruct the release of Nixon- level incriminating information that would expose his criminal betrayal of the Constitution.
The silence by the Republicans represents the downfall of the integrity of the GOP. Americans must flip the Senate and begin the restoration of our democracy and American values.
