- Passing the PACT Act, which represents the most significant expansion of benefits and services for toxic-exposed veterans, including veterans exposed to burn pits and certain veterans exposed to radiation and Agent Orange.
- Permanently housed more than 40,000 Veterans two years in a row;
- expanded life-saving support for Veterans at-risk of suicide
- Delivered an all-time yearly record number of health care appointments to Veterans
- The total fiscal year 2025 budget request includes $850 billion for the Department of Defense which is a 4.1 increase from 2023
Biden’s commitment to approving government funding for veterans services has not diminished his support for defense funding. His respect for the courage all military members show remains apparent in his words and actions.
In contrast, the politically motivated, disrespectful cruelty of Trump against war veterans has been a stain on the presidency. Current and former members of the military must unify and vote against a man who dodged the draft five times on a bogus claim of crippling pain from bone spurs and who has disparaged war hostages and slain soldiers.

- He infamously mocked Senator John McCain service and time as a hostage during the Viet Nam War by saying, ” I prefer people who don’t get caught.”
- He referred to dead soldiers at a cemetery in France as “losers and suckers” for getting killed.
- He broke tradition and used the military, specifically General Mark Milley to march into Lavayette Square to support the use of tear-gassing the protestors who were participating peacefully in a demonstration supporting racial equality in law enforcement
- In 2016, former CIA and NSA head Michael Hayden said members of the military would ” refuse to act” on the reckless, illegal acts Trump was promising to order the milItaly to commit if became president.
- He declared he knew ” more than the generals because they are not winning.”
The greatest act of patriotism the military establishment can do to defend our democracy is to break its tradition of staying out of politics and campaign against Donald Trump. Generals and Admirals agree that Trump is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief. Most of these officers are Republicans.
