Former Attorney General William Barr broke his oath of office by running the Department of Justice as Donald Trump’s private law firm and enforcement agency. Trump and the anti- democracy MAGA Republicans are using the gaslighting mechanism of projection and falsely accusing President Biden and Attorney General Merritt Garland of weaponizing while they are the blatant weaponizers. The cult of Trump members blindly believe accusations without requiring facts. In the Nixon Administration, Attorney General John Mitchell was jailed for crimes he collided with in the Watergate scandal. Barr committed acts that millions of Americans believe were either illegal and unethical such as:

• Violated boundaries that should exist between the Dept. Of Justice and the President by maintaining continuos contact with Trump regarding ongoing federal investigations.
• Acted as Trump’s political ally, spokesperson and personal attorney.
• When Robert Mueller decided not to indict Trump for colluding with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election, Barr released a manipulative statement saying the report exonnerated Trump of all crimes. He did this one month before the entire report was available to the public. The truth: Mueller found Trump committed ten acts of obstruction of justice and unfortunately decided not to indict him.
• Claimed without evidence that the FBI speed on the Trump 2016 campaign for the presidency.
• He attacked the Inspector General’s Report that validated the Russia Investigation. He failed to comply with DOJ rules.
• To enact Trump’s revenge campaign on Robert Mueller, he appointed US Attorney John Durham to conduct a bogus investigation into the Mueller Investigation. Durham’s report was Barr’s attempt to service his client, Donald Trump’s anti- democracy impulses.

In Feb. 2020, Just Security reported, “On January 17, Democracy 21 filed a complaint with the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility and the Departmental Ethics Office that detailed Barr’s pattern of biased actions and his failure to comply with Justice Department norms, rules and standards of conduct.”
