The Republicans “packed” the Court with three alt-right political members of the Federalist Society. If Biden expanded the Court it would combat the unethical “packing” done by Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. The Constitution doesn’t limit the number of Justices to nine. Expanding the court during times of severe, imbalanced partisan political takeovers restores democracy and protects the fair representation of all Americans. This court is dominated by white Christian extremists with decades of power ahead of them. That is not what the Founding Fathers intented in Article III of the Constitution which originally created a Supreme Court with six justices. The Court has fluctuated between five and ten justices since it’s inception. Republicans abuse power and break laws to hold onto power, but they whine like babies when democrats threaten to do the same.
THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF THE PAST IS DEAD. MODERATE REPUBLICANS ROLLED OVER AND GAVE TRUMP AND THE AUTOCRATIC, WHITE NATIONALIST MOVEMENT CONTROL OF THE PARTY. PRESIDENT BIDEN MUST GO BOLD TO RESTORE EQUALITY FOR ALL AMERICANS BY GOING BIG ON REFORM OF THE COURT. IT IS NOW A POLITICIZED ENTITY THAT DOES NOT REFLECT THE WILL AND NEEDS OF THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS.
The Republican election of the first autocratic president and the corrupt politicking of Senator Mitch McConnell created a Court that supports the rights of Christian religious extremism and pro-white, anti- minority, anti- women’s rights. In addition to the extreme-right ideology, the Court operates as a rogue entity, policing itself with little accountability or repercussions for their unethical behaviors. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito have been showered with extravagant trips and gifts by billionaire donors and did not report them as the law requires. Justice Gorsuch has also been involved in questionable conduct with donors. Justice Kavanaugh was under-investigated for credible accusations of sexual assault from an incident in college. Chief Justice Roberts is suspiciously doing nothing to support investigations by Congress into the unethical behaviors of the Court. Does that mean he is also hiding something related to his wife work with rich law firms?
The need to reform the Supreme Court is obvious to the majority of Americans. The courts approval rating is at an all- time low of 29%. Why shouldn’t life-time appointments be nullified by bad behavior? How is it good for democracy to protect liars, cheaters, and hyper-partisan judges? Lifetime appointments foster corrupt politics. Why not appoint only independent judges, with no party affiliations? Wouldn’t that increase the odds that the law and the will of the people would be preserved over the pursuit of political power?
WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE ACCUSATION, REPUBLICANS HAVE ALREADY BRANDED PRESIDENT BIDEN AS A WEAPONIZER AND MASTER OF UNETHICAL POLITICIZATION OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. FOR THE PRESERVATION OF DEMOCRACY, HE CANNOT CONTINUE TO PRIORITIZE PRESERVING A PATRIOTIC IMAGE OF HIMSELF BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW ACCURATE HIS COMPETENCE AND PATRIOTISM IS, THE REPUBLICANS WILL NEVER VALIDATE HIM.
