This is the message the majority of Americans are sending to MAGA judges, Republican members of Congress, evangelicals, and white Christiam nationalists. The Constitution is still the law of the land. Separation of church and state is part of the Constitution. America is NOT a white Christian country. THE WORD GOD DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE CONSTITUTION.Presidents are not required to place their hands on the Bible when being sworn into office. The Constitution states: “No religious test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.” The founding fathers included the separation of church and state in the Constitution to keep the Church from influencing government and to protect religious freedom. The rule of law in our democracy should have no connection to what is written in the Bible or how people interpret it’s relevance to how we function as a society.That’s an easy question for most women: “NO.” Their opinions are motivated by religion or misogyny. SHOULD WOMEN HAVE A MAJORITY SAY IN BANNING VASECTOMIES OR FORCING REVERSALS?It is a contradiction to the separation of church and state for Presidents to place their hand on the Bible when being sworn into office. Some politicians have used law texts, Dr. Seuss books, and writings that have special meaning to them. The Constitution does not require the Bible or any other book or document to be included in a swearing in process. It does require that a person ” swear to preserve, defend and protect the Constitution.”
Jesus is described as a man of compassion for the poor and infirm. He is described as a uniter, a teacher, a man of compassion who focused on doing good for humanity. He was said to have little interest in material possessions and was a self- sacrificing, generous, loving, and kind. Does what Jesus stood for sound anything like Donald Trump, or Reps. Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Senator Tommy Tubberville or Marjorie Taylor Green? MAGA Christians have perverted the core tenants of Christianity and have become spreaders of hatred, racism, homophobia, greed, hypocrisy and misogyny. HOW DID THE REPUBLICAN PARTY BECOME OVERTAKEN BY AN AUTOCRATIC, CRIMINAL GRIFTER AND A GANG OF INCOMPETENT, PRO-PUTIN CONGRESSMEN? POWER OVER COUNTRY. MONEY OVER MORALS, VIOLENCE OVER PEACE, AND AUTOCRACY OVER DEMOCRACY DEFINES TRUMP’S CONSERVATISM.
It will be a day of humiliation and cry for forgiveness for Trump supporters when they realize he has used them and their beloved in pursuit of power to kill democracy, become an ally of Russia, and kick them and their needs to the curb. He has turned on so many people who helped him politically and legally it will be swift and easy to dump the base once he doesn’t need them.
