Trump embarrassed himself and America yesterday in a long, ignorant, meandering, self- indulgent, hostile, anti-ally speech that was filled with provable lies.
Even Trump Senator Thom Tillis expressed concern that Trump’s rhetoric is alienating our NATO allies. During his speech, Trump spoke disrespectfully about other world leaders. He referred to Greenland as Iceland four times (imagine the reaction from Republicans if Biden did that). He wrongly accused NATO of “doing nothing” for America since the inception of the organization. His cognitive decline was on full display, and his voice was hoarse, weak, and flat. He showed both complete ignorance about the details of World War II and an inability to speak coherently about the interrelatedness of world economics. Additionally, he whined and bragged about himself, which made him look weak and desperate.
