Trump’s successful gaslighting of millions of Americans is a psychological phenomenon. Dozens of former Trump’s inner circle allies are testifying at the Jan 6th hearings and revealing evidence that proves he is a liar, exercised dangerous judgment as president, and probably committed federal crimes. Trump is nothing more than a cult figure. He is a skilled scam artist focused on transforming the American democracy into an autocratic government. Alarmingly his base still supports him. If you asked these followers if they would be ok with Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden sending a murderous mob to the Capitol to stop Trump from being certified as the next president, undoubtedly, they would say, ” NO, LOCK THEM UP”. Blind devotion by voters to any one person over the rule of law and decency, is unpatriotic and a threat to democracy. At this point, are Trump supporters too embarrassed to admit he made fools out of them, or do they suffer from the same psychological issues that he has?
