The cult of obsession with Trump has become so strong, people are risking their lives and freedom to keep him in power. His followers know, and he knows that he decidedly lost re-election. His deceitful and disastrous handling of the COVID pandemic contributed to his defeat. He might have lost anyway without the virus, due to his poor legislative performance , his racist rhetoric, and broken promises. His tax cuts for the rich exploded the debt. The border wall he promised Mexico would pay for never happened. Despite his bromance dates with Kim Jong Un, North Korea did not de- denuclearize. America’s participation in addressing climate change regressed and an acknowledgement of racial injustice in law enforcement was nowhere on the Trump radar. So he lost re-election because his presidency was a disaster. His crony attorney Rudy Giuliani gave him the script which evolved into ” the big lie”. Giuliani said, ” tell them you won.”
By playing out the Giuliani script, Trump has all but admitted he sees his base as stupid. Federal and Supreme court judges have ruled his claims of a fraudulent election unfounded. He lost, but his lying and pathetic whining has garnered pity and loyalty from his followers. Additionally, the Fox journalism reality show has become the main vehicle for spreading his hyperbolic divisiveness and democracy- threatening disinformation. Also complicit are the 50 Republican Senators who are promoting the “big lie” with their silence and refusal to vote in favor of protecting equal access to vote for all Americans.
It has been determined with evidence that five states, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia and Nevada sent forged documents to Congress in an attempt to have their states electoral votes illegally awarded to Trump; On her MSNBC show Rachel Maddow reported, “this would … appear to be some kind of coordinated effort, or at least, someone gave Republicans in all these states the same template for creating these false records. … That doesn’t happen by accident. Who organized this, Maddow asked?”
The forged certificates were referenced in a memo prepared by Trump-allied lawyer John Eastman outlining a six-step scheme. Former Vice President Mike Pence would throw out the valid electors from the “7 states [that] have transmitted dual slates of electors.” The actual “stop the steal” has been underway by Donald Trump and his accomplices. The Jan. 6th Committee is methodically exposing more details of corrupt attempts by Republicans to commit election fraud. The ” big lie” rhetoric is increasing as the corruption of the “Trump steal” becomes more apparent.
Trump and his legal team have been unable to substantiate their claims of rampant fraud and to prove the lie that he won the election. Ignoring the facts, his base is keeping a fantasy of his greatness alive. THE FORMER PRESIDENT HAS SAID NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES OR SAYS, HE KNOWS HIS BASE WILL BELIEVE AND SUPPORT HIM. THIS INSURANCE OF LOYALTY HAS EMBOLDENED TRUMP TO CONTINUE TO LIE ABOUT THE ELECTION AND HAS GIVEN HIM LICENSE TO GLORIFY VIOLENCE IN THE NAME OF SAVING THE DEMOCRACY THAT HE IS DECONSTRUCTING. HAVE THE CAPITOL RIOTERS EVER ASKED THEMSELVES WHY HE BROKE THE PROMISE HE MADE ON JAN. 6TH TO “STRONGLY” MARCH TO THE CAPITOL WITH THEM? HE ABANDONED THEM AS HE HAS SO MANY FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES, BUSINESS ASSOCIATES AND FAMILY MEMBERS THAT HE NO LONGER LIKES OR NEEDS ANYMORE.
The documentation of the fake elector scam by Republicans in those five states is extensive. The names and signatures of the people who fraudulently claimed to be electors have been released to the media. The forged letters are shown to have duplicated the identical format and font of the legitimate elector documentation. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has referred the forgeries in her state to the Department of Justice. The potential for criminal charges to be filed is increasing. Actions to commit election fraud by Republicans are being uncovered, revealing the natural stop-the-steal movement conducted by Democrats, Independents, and non- Trump Republicans who care about the country over personal agendas.
