UPDATED SINCE ORIGINAL POST: LITTLE DID I KNOW IN 2019 THAT LOSS OF LIFE CONNECTED TO TRUMP’S CORRUPTION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL PATHOLOGY WOULD LEAD TO THE DEATHS OF FIVE AMERICANS AT THE JANUARY 6th INSURRECTION WHERE HE SUMMONED HIS FOLLOWERS TO CARRY OUT THE VICIOUS ATTACK AT THE CAPITOL. IN ADDITION TO THE LOSS OF LIFE, OVER 140 POLICE OFFICERS WERE WOUNDED PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY DEFENDING THE CAPITOL BUILDING, MEMBERS OF CONGRESS, AND THE PEACEFUL TRANSFER OF POWER. WE NOW KNOW TRUMP WATCHED ON THE INSURRECTION ON TV AND DID NOTHING TO STOP IT FOR 187 MINUTES.
MORE LIVES WERE ALSO LOST BECAUSE TRUMP LIED TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE DEADLY NATURE OF COVID-19 AND DOWNPLAYED THE NEED TO WEAR MASKS, SOCIALLY DISTANCE, AND AVOID LARGE GATHERINGS. IN HIS RECKLESSNESS, ARROGANCE, AND FAUX MASCULINITY, MORE PEOPLE DIED NEEDLESSLY. HE CAUGHT COVID, SPREAD IT TO HIS FAMILY AND STAFF, AND EXPOSED THOUSANDS OF SUPPORTERS TO INFECTION AT SUPER SPREADER RALLIES. THE RESULT OF THIS SOCIOPATHIC BEHAVIOR ENDED IN MORE DEATHS, ONE NOTABLE FIGURE BEING TRUMP SURROGATE SENATOR HERMAN CAIN.
CHARLES MANSON WASN’T PRESENT AT THE MURDERS HE ORDERED, WHILE TRUMP WAS PRESENT, DOG-WHISTLING FOR SUPPORTERS TO BEHAVE IN WAYS THAT ENDANGERED THEIR LIVES AND THE LIVES OF OTHERS. SOCIOPATHIC INDIVIDUALS CAN VARY THE METHODS BY WHICH THEY DESTROY THE LIVES OF OTHERS; HOWEVER, DESTROYING IS THEIR GOAL.
TO DATE, TRUMP’S PERPETUATION OF THE “BIG LIE” INSPIRES THE UNSTABLE, RACIST MEMBERS OF HIS BASE TO ESPOUSE VIOLENT RHETORIC AND AGGRESSIVE ACTIONS. CULT LEADERS, DICTATORS, AND AUTHORITARIANS DO A LOT OF DAMAGE UNTIL THEIR INEVITABLE FALL. HOPEFULLY, THE JAN. THE 6TH COMMITTEE WILL FACILITATE THE FALL OF TRUMP AND MAKE AMERICA THE COUNTRY IT WAS BEFORE HE TOOK OFFICE.
Charles Manson was convicted of the Tate- LaBianca Murders in 1969. He was not present at the murders. So how did he convince these teenage girls and one man to murder these victims? Hate rhetoric poisoned the minds of his weak, damaged followers to believe that rich, famous people and police officers were evil and deserved to die.
How many times will it take our incompetent, disordered President to acknowledge or accept the truth that words have consequences? A scarier question is, does he even care about the life of anyone else besides his own, his family, or his supporters? By not declaring war on white supremacy, Trump is complicit in the increasing violence against minorities across America.
Based on the writings of over 1,000 mental health professionals, Trump is disordered. These psychological deficits are no excuse for his racist, violent, narcissistic, lawless, and unpatriotic behaviors, but they do explain it. Moreover, in truth, it is also the fault of Republicans in the Senate who keep protecting him. It is these silent, complicit Senators, along with Trump, who are betraying our democracy, compromising our safety, and humiliating us in the eyes of the global community.
Mike Pence, a milk toast lackey, was strategically picked to protect Trump from being removed from office by the 25th Amendment. Pence’s ass-kissing is cringeworthy, and his complicit lying may someday ruin him politically and personally.
So the demonstrations to impeach Trump needs to begin. The House must impeach, then not send it to the Senate, thereby neutering the Senate’s opportunity to acquit. If the House doesn’t impeach, they are as guilty as the Senate for allowing Trump’s assault on our democracy to continue. The political risk of retaliation by the golfing bully needs to be considered secondary to staying loyal to democracy.
The press is also partly to blame for Trump’s hold on his party. They need to STOP playing his hateful rhetoric and dictator-like inspired rally performances. Sure his dramatics attract ratings, however broadcasting his violent, racist speech is inspiring divisiveness and violence. This over-playing of his divisive words contributes to the spread of white supremacy and anti-Semitism. The media has fallen into his narcissistic trap of giving him the constant attention his weak ego craves.
All congressional and media professionals must stop being opportunistic and take moral and patriotic action to oppose the Trump cult of personality. If they don’t, they should be fired and replaced with fearless people who will make integrity and honesty their guiding narratives.
