On January 13th, on the House floor, McCarthy said, ” the president bears responsibility for the Capitol attack.” He was joined by Senator Mitch McConnell, who said, ” Trump is “physically and morally responsible for the Capitol attack.” When questioned by the media, the wimpy opportunist Mc Connell dodges the issue to protect his image from being aligned with the wacky conspiracy theorists and at the same time creates the narrative that he is with Trump all the way. Anything for power is Moscow Mitch’s anthem, even if it degrades democracy.
McCarthy is deeper. level of boot-licker than even Senators Graham and Mc Connell. He refuses to use the power of his position as House minority leader to silence, sanction or oppose the members of his caucus who continue to lie about election fraud and proclaim Trump is still the legitimate U.S. president. It makes one cringe to listen to McCarthy’s lies and see his frozen, guilty, shame-based face when he addresses the media. He speaks to an audience of 1, a twice-impeached, one-term, autocratic, worldwide joke of an ex-president.
After accusing Trump of culpability in the insurrection, he got scared by the defeated bully ex-president’s attacks on him and took back his initial statement. His response to changing his mind was, ” I made that statement without the information we have today”. There are many things wrong and dishonest about that statement, which Trump probably wrote. The information is a made up narrative which blames Nancy Pe!osi for the security failing on Jan 6th. Pelosi is not the head of Capitol security. The video of Trump inciting the mob and ordering them to the Capitol is indisputable. The videos of the Trump mob beating police officers and breaking into the Capitol, uninvited, isn’t indisputable. The arrests and prosecutions underway are by federal judges from both parties. The deaths of five people marked by their funerals and their devastated families is indisputable.
Before McCarthy scurried to Mara-a- Lago to cower at the ex- presidents feet, they had a contentious phone call on Jan.6th, where McCarthy asked Trump to take action to stop the attack at the Capitol and Trump said, “Well Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are”. In response, Rep. Jaime-Herrera Beutler overheard McCarthy saying, ” Who the f–k do you think you’re talking to”? It is reported from witnesses that McCarthy was shaken during the call. Seven months later, McCarthy can’t stop defending Trump and the traitorous fringe wing of his caucus. Is he a wimp, a traitor to his oath, or both?
McCarthy recently commented that if he became Speaker, it would be hard not to hit Nancy Pelosi with the gavel. Why doesn’t the wimp tell Trump he LOST the election, got trounced, booted out, got his clocked cleaned, slaughtered, and got the crap beaten out of him? Show a spine McCarthy, before you suffer the same fate.
