As the electoral college cast its votes for the next President of the United States, Donald Trump was the only one thinking today’s vote would change the reality that he lost re-election. Joe Biden received 306 electoral votes to Donald Trump’s 232. Despite his resounding loss, Trump will use this day to continue to instigate violent beliefs and behaviors towards election officials, state governors, and attorney generals, and any person of any party who mouths the words, ” the election was fair, you lost.” He is an epic sore loser who is an embarrassment to himself and the country. His campaign to prove the election was stolen is being called a “DISINFORMATION FOR DOLLARS” scam to fund his post-presidency political agenda and to possibly use the money to pay off financial debt and to fund future business ventures.
Throughout the campaign, he has warned Americans that under a Biden presidency the country would be fraught with violence, “never seen before.” What he was saying in code to his followers was, ” beware of black people asking for justice, Democrats want to defund the police, and it is acceptable to be violent to defend me if I don’t win because only I can protect you.”Most Americans now realize Trump accuses others of whatever wrongdoing he is committing to deflect the attention and consequences away from him. He is brazen and effective at this unethical style of gaslighting, however, the pattern is repetitive, worn out, and exposed as nothing more than manipulation to support his self-interests.
Violent and aggression are symptoms of Trump’s disordered personality. He is irritable, vindictive, hostile, and advocates these traits to his followers as acceptable behaviors if in defense of him and his anti- Democratic vision of America. He praises our Constitution, then defies it when it suits his agenda. Under Trump’s leadership, members of the electoral college were being threatened by Trump supporters and were escorted by security out of fear of violence. Violent outbreaks occurred this week at pro-Trump demonstrations and anti-Biden rhetoric concerning to safety of the new administration.
In addition to concerns about a rise in physical violence towards those who oppose Trump, is anxiety about the violent opposition towards the rule of law promoted by Trumpism. There is almost a Saturday night massacre feel to Trump’s treatment of officials who have refused to engage in attempting to disavow democracy by taking action to overturn the results of the election. Attorney General William Barr, legendary boot-licker to Trump, resigned today, claiming a desire to spend the holidays with his family.
HOW DUMB DOES TRUMP THINK THE PUBLIC IS?
Since Barr announced that the DOJ did not find any significant fraud in the presidential election, Trump has been openly hostile towards him. So in true cheesy, reality show style, Trump orchestrates a phony “resignation” from Barr, 1 month before the end of his administration. This move was pure politics with a calculated, vindictive reaction to Barr’s inability to help him change the election results in his favor. Even for the corrupt Barr, openly over-turning the results of a fair democratic election was going too far.
The level of anger Trump is exhibiting over losing re-election is presidential and creating a threat to people’s lives and the stability of our government. His behavior permits his followers to be violent about his removal from office and adds to his legacy of being the most dangerous president in U.S. history.
