Europe’s Reaction To Trump’s Re-election Loss Has Been “Bye America First” And “Hello America’s Back.” The Global Relief About Biden’s Win Is Palpable. President-Elect Joe Biden Is Hard At Work Every Day Preparing For A Peaceful Transition. Today He Announced The Names Of Several Candidates To His Cabinet And Their Stellar Qualifications Make Trump’s Cabinet Appointees Look Like An Embarrassment Of Incompetence. The Return Of Political Talent And Diplomacy Is Being Welcomed By Nations Around The World.

Trump is wasting time pretending he won the election to protect his ego and set the stage to make a reality show comeback attempt in 2024. The slogan ” America First” has been a sham. The ideology has been “Trump First” and his anti-democracy attempt to power- grab a fair election by calling it a fraud is a final act that exposes his malignant narcissism and autocratic view of the American presidency. For four years esteemed allies have had to put up with Trump’s arrogant, intrusive behaviors at conferences and summits while under their breath they whispered, ” what has happened to the American presidency.” He monopolized media time on the world stage with incessant, incoherent rambling while qualified leaders stood by frustrated at his crudeness and lack of knowledge about issues such as climate change, science, history, and the importance of globalization. Joe Biden’s sizeable popular vote and electoral college wins have inspired our allies to once again believe in the presence of America as a beacon of democracy and decency.Biden has already kept one of his campaign promises. He committed to choosing a cabinet that would reflect the true make-up of America. The cabinet nominees he has chosen all reflect a level of experience, competence, integrity, and diversity that was not reflected in Trump’s choices for the same positions. Trump’s criteria for appointees were loyalty and subservience. In his first few years as president, some of his choices were so bad even he started firing people one after another. When his choices were so questionable it seemed they would not be confirmed, he simply kept their status as ” acting” officials to circumvent the need for congressional approval. Biden’s first round of cabinet nominees include;Secretary of State- Antony Blinken. He served as Deputy Secretary of State and Deputy National Security Advisor for President Obama and National Security Advisor to Vice- President Biden.Secretary of Homeland Secretary- Alejandro Mayorka’s served as Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security from 2013-2016. U.S. director of U.S Citizenship and Immigration under President Obama. Mayorkas is the first immigrant and Latino to hold this position.Director of National Intelligence- Avril Haines. She has served as Deputy Director of the CIA from 2013-2015. If confirmed, she will be the first woman to serve in that position.Secretary of the Treasury- Janet Yellin served as the chair of the federal reserve from 2014-2018. She was also the Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisors under Bill Clinton. These nominees represent the caliber of talent worthy of the positions they seek. Their experiences have prepared them to expertly execute the duties of these positions on day one on the job. Contrary to many of Trump’s initial appointees whose experience did not match the job, Biden has prioritized competency over subservient loyalty. For example, Trump’s choice for Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin is a banker worth 300 million dollars, and a Trump loyalist who is largely seen as unqualified for such a high-level position. His Secretary of Education, Betsy Devos is a billionaire advocate for charter schools and has never worked as a teacher or school administrator. Dr. Ben Carson was appointed by Trump as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Carson is a retired, acclaimed pediatric neuro-surgeon with no direct experience in housing and urban issues. However, his fealty to Trump got him the job.The Biden presidency promises to return America to a high standard of governmental integrity, democratic norms, and a united, not divided country. Biden is prioritizing getting the COVID spread under control and preparing for the efficient distribution of the forthcoming vaccines. He is urging the current administration to approve a COVID relief bill to minimize the financial, physical, and emotional suffering of the American people. Meanwhile, it seems Trump may spend his last days as president pardoning criminals, harming democracy with baseless attacks on the fair election he lost, and taking impulsive military actions to complicate Biden’s transition to power and potentially damaging national security. As long as his days are numbered America, and the world, will be ok.
