Could Trump’s Actions To Withhold Intelligence Briefings From The Incoming Biden Administration Be Seen As Treasonist? Could He Be Held Legally Responsible For Any Damage To Our National Security Which Results From His Obstruction Of A Transparent, Peaceful Transition Of Power? The Behavior He Has Displayed Since His ” Historic” Loss To Joe Biden Confirms What Thousands Of Mental Health Professionals And Eyewitnesses To His Unstable Behaviors Have Claimed; He Is Emotionally and Intellectually Unfit To Be President. The Republican Party Is Finished If They Support A Trump 2024 Presidential Run.

TREASON: “THE ACT OF BETRAYING ONES COUNTRY, TO BRING HARM TO THE GOVERNMENT.”

There is no doubt Trump’s behavior since he lost the election is damaging the United States. What patriotic justification is there for trying to sabotage the effectiveness of a new administration? Today he fired Chris Krebs, The Election CyberSecurity Director, simply for making the statement “the 2020 election was the most secure in American history, and there is no evidence of fraud that could have compromised the results of the election” suggests a disloyal president is using his power to damage our democracy. Are these behaviors a sign he is psychologically decompensating? He is displaying impulsive and vindictive behaviors by going on a firing spree of Homeland Security and intelligence officials. Any official who has ever opposed him is a potential target for his rage about losing the election.

His claim that he won election the world knows he lost makes him sound like a ” mad king.” With allies and adversaries looking on, Trump is the first U.S. president to have led a voter suppression campaign to cheat in his re- election bid. Additionally, he has legally attempted to block the certification of legal votes in the swing states where he lost. The damage he is doing to the reputation of the U.S., the strongest, most stable democracy in the world is undeniable. How can American citizens remain loyalty and retain trust in a president who places his own ego and thirst for power over loyalty to the Constitution and the well -being of American citizens?

The damage by Trump may be far-reaching. His refusal to co- operate in the peaceful, democratic transition of power as all past 44 U.S. presidents have done is alarming members of the incoming administration, the military, the intelligence community and our allies. By calling the election ” rigged” Trump is signaling to the world our democracy is corrupted and the country is weak and divided. He is even suing Republican states claiming fraud and demanding recounts. His sore- losing, petulant behavior is creating the image of a chaotic, unstable president who is employing a vindictive approach to his final 2 months in office. Historically after a U.S. presidential election, countries unfriendly to America look for opportunities to take advantage of due to any disruption in the efficient operation of our government.

An especially egregious act is the president’s refusal to allow the Biden Administration access to data on COVID related issues and foreign policy intelligence. Trump’s failure at managing the pandemic has resulted in the out- of-control spread COVID-19 to potentially tens of thousands of people. His anti- mask, anti- science, and normalization of disinformation campaigns have coalesced a following of Americans who are complicit in damaging the public health of millions of people, as well as destroying the economy. Joblessness, homelessness, and food deprivation have resulted from Trump’s complete failure in dealing with the pandemic. His complete abdication of any effort to control the infection rate has worsened since he lost the election. Shouldn’t any intentional action taken by a president which harms the country be seen as treasonist?

State after state is turning down Trump’s lawsuits claiming his attorney’s failed to present credible arguments to prove their cases. Trump’s narrative of having won the election due to extreme voter fraud is a disinformation campaign to offset his embarrassment over losing his re-election. Losing by approximately 6,000,000 popular votes and by 93 electoral votes is a trouncing, and makes him one of the few one-term presidents in American history. By delegitimizing the election, Trump is damaging the trust in our democracy and our reputation throughout the world. His need to defend against feeling like a loser is so severely pathological, that as he proclaims “MAGA” he acts to destroy American democracy and morality with lies and Russian-style propaganda.

There has never been a U.S. president as willing as Trump is to execute harmful policies and spread disinformation with disregard to the damage it will inflict on the country. He is acting against the best interests of the country. People are dying, becoming homeless, and losing their homes while Trump golf’s, tweets, make false claims about election fraud, and is destabilizing our government by firing qualified officials in positions vital to protecting national security. These actions betray his oath to uphold the Constitution and protect American lives. Why isn’t that treason?
