Trump’s Disasterous Management Of The COVID-19 Epidemic Has Energized The Efforts Of The Anti-Trump Movement To Make Sure He Is Not Re-elected. Beginning With The Record-Breaking Crowd Turnout Across America At the First Post Inaugural Women’s March To The Regaining Control of The House of Representatives in 2018, The Resistance Is Stronger Than Ever. People Have Died Because Trump Lied. America Has An Imposter In The White House.

After almost four years of lying, breaking norms, spreading racist rhetoric, defying the Constitution, destroying any hope for bipartisanship, and sinking the country into debt, Trump has pushed those who oppose him into a desperate, defiant campaign to defeat him and annihilate Trumpism. His ideology is not American. He has cleverly hidden that fact from his supporters with his Reagan-stolen slogan, “Make America Great Again.” However, what he is really saying is “Remake America In My Flawed Image.” Trump is dishonest, law-breaking, secretive, vindictive, and self-obsessed. Does that sound like what America has always represented?”

Cultural historian Eric S. Singer, M.Ed., Ph.D., recently wrote an article on Medium.com, that included a direct message to Trump. Dr. Singer said, “Mr. Trump, history books will tell you that the terrible reporters and the nasty women will win the day. They will do what they do best–tell the truth gracefully and forthrightly. And they will keep calling you out. They will grow more powerful as this crisis flays your ineptitude open wide for all to see. They will expose your mistakes, mistruths, and misdeeds. Their legacy will trump yours”.

Good does eventually win over evil, and Trump, his policies, and his surrogates have promoted a level of hate and division in this country that the resistance movement will not allow surviving.Besides the evangelicals, a significant portion of poor, white rural Americans, and the top 1%, Trump has managed to disparage or marginalize most other sectors of the American population. He began his term as President by calling Mexicans rapists, banning Muslims from entering the U.S., calling women who oppose him, “nasty,” insulting Jews by referring to Nazi’s in Charlottesville as “good people,” giving tax cuts to the rich, calling the free press the “enemy of the people,” and ascribing demeaning labels to anyone who opposes him.He has acted like a bully, an autocrat, a lawbreaker, an abuser, and a pathological liar. He has embarrassed America on the world stage by kissing up to autocratic adversaries showing his desperate need to look like a strong man. He has verbally disrespected former Presidents and Democrats on foreign soil sounding unpatriotic and insecure. He has talked disrespectfully to our allies and failed at all attempts at diplomacy due to his arrogance and incompetence.

The resistance movement is unable to understand the appeal he maintains with his base. Are there that many religious or desperate people in the swing states of the same decadent character of Trump? Is it all about abortion and the attempt of the far-right to insert church into government, which the Constitution forbids?Trump is so massively disliked around the world it makes his appeal to these populations an unsolved mystery. In his article, Dr. Singer cites a quote by novelist David Graham Phillips from 1906, about a movement that stood in opposition to the power of large corporations and the legislators who became willing to do their bidding.

Appearing in Cosmopolitan, the piece titled, Treason of the Senate, Phillips wrote, “Treason is a strong word, but not too strong to characterize the situation in which the Senate is the eager, resourceful and indefatigable agent of interests as hostile to the American people as any invading army could be.” The current Republican-controlled Senate led by the partisan obstructionist Mitch McConnell, has given Trump their support to legislate in favor of corporations that benefits the rich, himself, and his family. This series Phillips wrote at the turn of the century is a chilling reminder that once again America is being led by a government that does not defend or protect the lower and middle-classes.

THE RESISTANCE TO TRUMP IS STRONG. IT IS A MOVEMENT THAT WANTS TO KEEP AMERICA GREAT BY CHOOSING A LEADER WHO POSSESSES CHARACTER, COMPETENCE, AND COMPASSION. ONE FLAWED MAN CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO DESTROY DEMOCRACY AND THE MORALITY THAT THE FOUNDING FATHERS INGRAINED INTO OUR CONSTITUTION.
